The Voice of Asian Americans Scholarship

SVCAF will award “The Voice of Asian Americans” Scholarships to accomplished young Asian-Americans. The Board is evaluating applications and will announce the scholarship winners at its gala on February 9, 2019.

The details of this scholarship program are as follows:

1. Scholarships shall be awarded annually to up to three college or high school students in California.

2. The Voice Scholars should have demonstrated a series of accomplishments aligned with SVCAF’s mission.

3. Accomplishments may include, but not limited to, making speeches at public forums such as policy-making meetings, and publishing articles in traditional and social media.

4. The Voice Scholarship nominees are evaluated on thought leadership, independence and innovation in their efforts to advance the participation of Asian American youth in society.

5. Scholars shall be nominated, interviewed and approved by the Scholarship Committee of SVCAF. At least two members of the SVCAF Scholarship Committee shall meet the applicants in person. The nominee is required to submit a personal statement (no more than 500 words) as a formal application before the scholarship can be granted.

6. Scholars and up to four guests of theirs are invited to attend the SVCAF Gala where $2000 for each scholar is presented.
